Of the two I like the darker version. They're BOTH excellent.

That came out really great! I like the style you've used... this is good! Congratulations!
Thanks Drew
I always like the Work-In-Progress shots. It's positive reinforcement not to 'give up' too early if your art piece isn't exactly what you thought it should be... yet!
So true.
Excellent work.
Thanks Drew
The crackle in the highlights of the bottle and the apparent thickness suggest the imperfections in the fabrication of old glass bottles, lending a folklore touch to it. The colors and glows add the mysticism... the tiny skull speaks for itself (even without a tongue). Another great painting.
Thanks Drew, thats very kind of you to say.
Another great painting... the colors are vibrant and there's a sensation of depth that draws the viewer in. Nice that you've even provided a backstory for the uninitiated.
Thanks Drew. Thanks to my mentor, I was able to get the story and the painting the way I wanted.
Excellent painting... it really makes the leap from merely a rendition of a photo to the realm of art.
Thank you Drew. That's very kind of you to say
I did an exercise like this in a class a few months ago where the participants had to draw an apple using only red, yellow, blue and black pencils. It's a test of your ability to mix colors using only the primaries. You did a good job with this... kudos for the reflections and shadows.
Thank you so much :) I'll definitely try some more realism in the future!
This is excellent. I like the splashes of color reflected off his leather jacket. It's an extremely good likeness.
Thanks Drew :)
I work in many mediums, but LOVE pencils.
