This is nice. Very 'cool' atmosphere. I like the evidence of where the forestry agents sawed the fallen tree in half to undam the creek.

Thanks Drew

Excellent! It's great to look carefully at the enlarged version and appreciate the brushwork!

Thank you kindly! Feel like I've learnt so much since this painting too, cant wait to start posting more recent stuff

You have one twisted sense of humor! :)

kittenbombs1 responds:

I guess you've rubbed off on me in the last few years

This is good. It's a treat blowing the image up and examining the brushstrokes and technique up close.

kittenbombs1 responds:

Thanks man :)

Yep! REALLY like this one! Is that a left-handed Washburn?

(OF COURSE it's a Rickenbacher... I should have paid more attention to the head stock!)

txikuri responds:

Thanks! It's a left-handed Rickenbacker

I really like the way you rendered his paws. The contrasts really works!

kittenbombs1 responds:

Thanks :)

I think you've resolved your composition dilemma.

kittenbombs1 responds:

Thanks, I was so ready to be done with this one.

I really like the light 'streaks' portrayed in the raindrops falling around the phone booth. Everything looks wet... you did a really good job conveying the shine and reflections coming from the different textures in the painting... the way the light carries only so far and then is muted... that's how night driving in the rain looks. Another excellent painting.

kittenbombs1 responds:

Thanks man. I appreciate the kind words.

Very nice; I like the dramatic change in lighting from the bright light falling of the fall leaves in the midground to the darker, shadowed pine trees in the foreground.

Bigfoot3290 responds:

Thanks. When I took the photo, I noticed how vibrantly the fall colors in the valley shown through the austerity of the overcast day. I'm glad that aspect came through for you in the painting.

I'm about to embark on painting stuff like I've very rarely painted before (en plein air), so I understand, but this is good.

kittenbombs1 responds:

I look forward to seeing your work

I work in many mediums, but LOVE pencils.
